​As an amateur composer, Mr Irfan’s lessons were invaluable in helping me to take my compositions to the next level. He was able to use his extensive experience composing for orchestra to give me insights on orchestration, such as suggestions on what instruments and techniques to use to highlight certain harmonies and parts or achieve various sound effects. Moreover, he explained in great detail many of the points to take note of when writing for orchestra, such as scoring conventions, sound balance, and making sure the piece was playable. Lastly, he gave constructive advice on how to further develop my musical ideas throughout a composition so as to make them sound fresh and unique to the listener through each iteration. After taking lessons from Mr Irfan, I would highly recommend his academy, as his vast knowledge and willingness to impart them are extremely difficult to come by.
